This Sunday, December 11, Santa is coming to town! The parade starts at 1:00 PM at Briargreen PS by the Park on Parkfield. Watch and cheer on Santa, carollers, and other floats – or join in and walk along!

Holiday-Palooza: Kids Activities and Craft Market

Stop by Holiday-Palooza at Briargreen PS (19 Parkfield Cres) from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. We'll have free crafts for kids and a cash-only market to cross items off your gift list. Santa will also make an appearance after the Parade!

Briargreen Spooky Scavenger Hunt

           

Hey Briargreen! The haunting of our streets has started in full force which means it’s time once again for the annual Briargreen Spooky Scavenger Hunt!

Halloween Costume Walk - Sunday, October 30th, 1PM to 4PM

Briargreen’s Costume Walk is back! Get those “ghosts and goblins” of all ages ready for Halloween by dressing up and joining your friends to show off your cute, creative, and creepy costumes to the neighbourhood!

There’s no set route or time so take your time and take selfies and group photos with all the amazingly decorated houses that you discovered on the Scavenger Hunt. Monkeys on the monkey bars, sorcerers on the swings – sky’s the limit.

Spectators, feel free to play music and cheer on the crowds! 

Pumpkin Carving Contest

Don’t forget to post your pumpkins on the Briargreen Facebook page. Vote your favourites with a Like! The pumpkin with the most likes will be declared Briargreen’s Pumpkin Carving Contest Winner!

Submit your pumpkin by Noon on October 31st, the winner will be announced November 1st by 5:00PM.

Briargreen Community Association Hosts College Ward and Councillor School Board Trustee Candidates

The Briargreen Community Association hosted its first Annual General Meeting since the start of the Pandemic at the Briargreen Public School library on October 19, 2022. To a room filled with residents, the volunteers behind organization introduced themselves, touched on issues affecting the community, and solicited ideas to help set its direction for the future. The second-half of the meeting welcomed all candidates running for city Councillor in College Ward, as well as candidates vying for Trustee of both public and Catholic school boards to share their priorities for our ward and answer questions. The Q&A was moderated by BCA President Rob Welch and Volunteer Coordinator Émilie Coyle.

Time to clean out those closets! The Great Briargreen Garage Sale will take place Saturday, May 14, from 8am - 12pm. 

Stop by 40 Moorcroft, where the Girl Guides will be having a bake and beavertail like pastry sale in support of their upcoming trip to England.

19th Nepean Cubs and Scouts

 

Door-to-Door Bottle Drive

Wednesday evening, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm 

Briargreen’s 19^th Nepean Cubs and Scouts are finally able to resume their annual spring door-to-door bottle drive in the neighborhood.

• Wednesday April 27th - West of Crofton between 6:30pm and 8:30pm
• Wednesday May 4th April - East of Crofton between 6:30pm and 8:30pm

Donations can include anything refundable at the Beer store: bottles, bladders, kegs, etc.  Please have donations ready in a sturdy box or bag.  If you prefer to be rid of your empties before then, call Scouter Charles at 613-596-0382 to arrange an earlier pickup, or drop them off on the covered porch at 31 Cedar Grove Court.
