Staff Sgt Stephanie Burns from our Organized Fraud section posted a tweet earlier in the week regarding a new phishing scam

An email is sent to you advising that you have been issued with a traffic infringement as a result of photographic evidence.  The email identifies the infraction as negligent driving and directs you to take action immediately.

Phishing emails look legitimate but stop and think.  How would they get my email from my driver's license??  The answer...........They CAN'T!!

Don't fall for this; just delete the email .

Feel free to share this with friends, family and neighbors. The more people who know about this the less that will get caught in the scam.

The 19th Nepean Cubs and Scouts are doing their annual door-to-door collection for the local food bank on 23-Nov from 6:30-8:30pm.  Please donate nutritious and non-perishable food items (cash donations are also gratefully accepted).

If you will not be home but still wish to donate, label your donation "for Scouts" and leave at your front door or on your front porch.  Last year the donations were overwhelming, and not all houses could be canvassed by the youth in the time available.  So if your donation is not picked up that evening, it can be dropped off at your convenience just inside the exit of the Greenback Metro.  Thank you for your generosity and support again this year!

Hi there,
I wanted to share this story as it was quite heartwarming and reflects both the spirit of our neighbourhood but also a genuine kindness story.
Earlier this spring during the community garage sale, our son rode/pushed home this bike that was in need of some tlc. Rusty and knowing it had seen better days, I shook my head and laughed at his excitement.
About a month ago, I tried to toss it out to the curb for garbage pickup. Last week while eating dinner, our doorbell rang....our son answered the door to find no one around, only his "old" bike on our doorstep that had been repainted and fixed up! Jacob called out to us to come quickly and see what he had found, the look on his face was priceless.
Now how's that for an amazing neighbourhood?! Thank you very much to the mystery Good Samaritan (who we still don’t know) who has completely made my boys year! Your kindness has truly made a difference.
