A Humorous Play and Fundraiser for a Good Cause

We would like to invite you to an exciting fundraiser at our church. Our son, Sandy Gibson, will be remounting his successful one man show “Portable # 3 - Not Just Another French Class.”, which he performed at the Ottawa Fringe Festival in June, 2014. All proceeds from the event will be used to assist various charities such as Harmony House - an organization that provides support for women and children survivors of domestic abuse.

Sandy’s show is a humorous portrayal of the trials and tribulations of a first year teacher and is suitable for all ages. it is a family-rated show.

The show received a number of positive reviews from various critics, won ‘best of fest’ for his venue and was awarded critics’ pick - honorable mention.

See the link below for a couple of reviews of the show:

City of Ottawa Tips for Finding a Snow Removal Contractor

Ottawa – The City of Ottawa provides a number of tips and services to help residents with the  clearing of snow from their walkways and driveways.

The Snow Go Program helps seniors and persons with disabilities find reliable contractors and/or individuals to clear snow from their private driveways and/or walkways. Once matched up with snow removal help, residents are responsible for making payments directly to the individual or contractor.

Eligible seniors and persons with disabilities can also apply to the Snow Go Assist Program, which provides financial assistance and pays for a portion of their snow removal costs. Approved participants may be reimbursed up to 50 per cent of the cost of snow clearing per event, up to a seasonal maximum of $450.

The Snow Go Programs are administered by local home support agencies that serve local neighbourhoods.

Also, residents searching for a reputable snow plow contractor can review the roster of licensed snow plow contractors listed on ottawa.ca. You will also find tips such as:

·         How to handle a door-to-door sales pitch
·         Understand the terms of your contract before signing
·         Check the Better Business Bureau and customer review websites

For more information about any of these services visit ottawa.ca or call 3-1-1 (TTY: 613-580-2401).
